My girlfriend loves it, as it appeals to her aesthetics and has plenty of space for a large collection of jewelry. The only immediately identifiable con is that the key lock only secures the top compartment, leaving the six side compartments vulnerable to sticky fingers.

The construction of the box is very good. The wood used is beautiful. My only complaint about the box is that the lock doesn't work to secure the box. There are three levels of drawers of the swinging type variety. When you lock the box, a latch in the middle comes up from the bottom and hooks into the top. This serves only to secure the top center area. All six drawers on the sides can still be opened! Kind of pointless in my opinion. If you're looking for a beautiful box that's well made, but doesn't secure your jewelry from prying eyes or idle hands, then this box is for you. I bought it for my wife and decided to keep it because the only thing we would need to protect from is theft, but in this case, the thief could just take the whole box anyway.
